Dr Bijay Sinha is a Member of the Expert Witness
Institute and Law Society Expert Witness (checked 2002) and is listed in the
Law Society Directory of Expert Witnesses.
He is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Medicine.
His background as a generalist allows him to comment, with knowledge and
experience, on a wide range of personal injury including the following:
- whiplash/cervical sprains,
- thoraco-lumbar injuries,
- psychological and psychiatric reactions,
- injuries to joints and ligaments,
- fractures, both intra-articular and extra-articular,
- soft tissue damage and scars,
- head injuries,
- general medical/surgical conditions,
- ear, nose and throat condition including hearing impairment,
- medical examinations and reports to appeal tribunals (all work test)
- including asylum appeals (injuries both physical and mental).
Dr Sinha has been in hospital and general practice for the last 41 years. He
has been partner in general practice for the last 28 years including 10 years
as a trainer in general practice. His relevant hospital experience includes
Accident and Orthopaedic. He was ENT registrar and subsequently Hospital
Practitioner in ENT for 33 years. He was also Clinical Medical Officer in
Audiology for 20 years. He was medical advisor for the Benefits Agency
assessing claims for incapacity benefit, for 1 year. He was a medical assessor
in the Independent Tribunal Service (Social Services Appeals Tribunals) for 3
